A further specialist service is the installation of Full Submersion
Baptisteries to all denominations.
Whilst
we have been installing Baptisteries for many years, we have
not as yet produced a brochure for same. Unfortunately our
part of any project
is often completed prior to the main contractor's work and
therefore not at a suitable stage for photography.
I am often tempted to send a plain piece of paper and a box
of crayons, when a brochure is requested, as I feel each installation
should be a unique art form as much as a functional unit.

In the SPATA awards, (Swimming Pool & Allied Trades Association),
J W Green Swimming Pools Ltd. took the Gold Award for a Baptistery
installation at The Church of Saint John, This Baptistery
was in the form of a cross with steps at each end, custom built
and finished in Italian vitreous mosaic. A marble panel is set into
the floor with the words -
JOHN SAID " I WILL BAPTISE YOU WITH WATER, HE WILL BAPTISE YOU WITH
THE HOLY SPIRIT "
Removable covers were supplied with tiles inset into same, to match
the surrounding floors. The installation is complete with filtration
and an inline stainless steel electric heater.
J W Green Swimming Pools Ltd. worked closely with Mr. Ralph
Ball of Charter Design Associates, Farnham to bring the
design to fruition. This is our second major award for Baptistery
installations.
J W Green Swimming Pools Ltd. also offer a factory made unit in
GRP, available in any RAL colour, through to fully reinforced Baptisteries
finished in Italian glass mosaic. The latter is designed to a recognised
concrete code and SPATA standards.
Mosaic's are 20 mm x 20 mm Italian glass, which is more suited to
finishing a Baptistery than larger tiles and where curves are included
in a design, is a much easier medium to accommodate same.
